Happy Birthday Jesus

II's that time of the year again. December has come and with it all of the joys of Christmas. But what is the real meaning of Christmas? Is it the gifts under the tree, the lights in the windows, the cards in the mail, ham dinners with family and friends, snowmen in the yard, stockings hanging on the fire place, and shouts of "Merry Christmas" to those who pass in the streets? Is this really the meaning of Christmas?

For many people, Christmas is a time of sadness, especially due to the economy. They don't have extra money to buy presents for their children, family, and friends. Many are saddened at Christmas time when they think of their loved ones who will not be able to come home for various reasons. Ham dinners may be only a wish and not a reality for some. We must not forget the true meaning of Christmas "The birth of I AM" Emmanuel,  Jesus. Christmas is a time for salvation by grace through faith in the One who was born that day in Bethlehem.
The apostle John wrote years later. "And the Word because flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1:14). There in that cave, a shelter for animals, was born the Son of God, the Savior of the World, the Mighty God, the Eternal Father, the Prince of Peace, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Emmanuel.

Paul reminds us in his letter to the Corinthians, "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that through He was rich, yet fsven their hearts to Jesus will do so today.
Therefore recieving the greatest gift of all from our Lord, entering into the joy of this season of salvation. Amen, Hallelujah.
