God In A Manager  - "I Am"

Christmas is not about the Jesus's infancy, it is about his deity. The humble birth of Jesus Christ was never intended to conceal the reality that God himself was being born into the world.

However today's world version of Christmas does just that. Consequently for the greater part of humanity, Christmas has no legitimate meaning at all.

Can we fathom what it means for god to be born in a manager? How does one expain the "Almighthy" becoming a tiny infant? Our minds cannnot begin to understand what was involved in God becoming man.

Nor can anyone expain how God can become a baby. But, he did exactly that and more. Without foresaking his divine nature or diminishing his deity, he was born into our world as a tiny infant, a mere baby.

He was fully human, with all the needs and emotions that are common to all of us. But still he was also God, all wise and powerful. It amazes me for he allowed himself to be tortured and placed on a cross for us. God died on the cross for our sins and iniquities.

For nearly 2,000 years, debate has been raging about who Jesus really is. Skeptics have offered various explanations. They'll say he is one of many gods, a created being, a prophet, a high angel, and so on. Common thread of all such theories is that they make Jesus less than God.

One passage in particular, written by the Apostle Paul, captures the essence of Jesus's divine nature and underscores the truths that make Christmas truly wonderful.

Colossians 1:15-20

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
